Bangalore, 11th December 2019: The surprise visit of Infant Jesus Shrine Choir members to Archdiocesan Clergy Home brought a smile on the faces of the retired priests as they sang carols, danced and cheered as part of the Christmas carol singing.
The choir sang melodious carols and created a festive atmosphere in the clergy home. The senior clergy expressed their joy as they reciprocated by singing along with the choir. Rev Frs. Alwyn Thanganathan and Francis Xavier danced with the Santa Claus which added more festivity to the moment. At this moment Rev. Fr. Stany Viegas was remembered by many as he served at the Infant Jesus Shrine, Viveknagar.
Most Rev. Dr. Peter Machado, the Archbishop of Bangalore was present in the program. He thanked the members of the Infant Jesus Shrine Choir for visiting the retired priests and sharing the joy of Christmas with them.
Speaking on the visit of the Choir, the Archbishop said “These priests have celebrated many Christmases in their parishes and their selfless service made everyone’s life colorful.”
The prelate also lauded the choir for their noble act of celebrating Christmas with the retired priests of the Archdiocese.
Rev Fr. D. S. Arokiaswamy and Rev. Fr. Pius D’sa, senior clergy fondly recollected the saccharine reminiscences of celebrating Christmas in their parishes during their yesteryears. The program culminated with the delicious dinner sponsored by one of the choir members.
