Bangalore, August 5, 2019: Msgr. T.S. Amruthraj (82) who passed away at the early hours of dawn on 2nd August was laid to rest at the Sacred Heart Church’s Cemetery for priests.
The funeral service was held on 5th August at 10:30 am at Sacred Heart Church, Richmond Road. Most Rev. Dr. Peter Machado, Archbishop of Bangalore presided over the Holy Eucharist along with Most Rev. Dr. Bernard Moras, Archbishop Emeritus, Vicar Generals and Clergy from various other dioceses of Karnataka and neighboring states.
Remembering Msgr. Amruthraj in his homily, Archbishop Emeritus Most Rev. Dr. Bernard Moras recollected fond reminiscences he had with the deceased priest. “I know Fr. Amruthraj personally. He was a priest who respected elders as well as young people. He was always obedient and performed his duties faithfully”.
People from various parts of Bangalore and Karnataka at large attended the funeral service to bid farewell to Rev Msgr. T.S. Amruthraj. One of the relatives of Late Msgr. Amruthraj thanked the Archbishop and the congregation.
Late Msgr. T.S. Amruthraj was a senior priest of the Archdiocese of Bangalore who served in different capacities as Assistant parish priest, parish priest, financial administrator and Vicar General of the Archdiocese.
