Archbishop Machado inaugurates Bon Secours Degree College




Bangalore, November 16, 2021: Bon Secours Convent campus at #2, Campbell Road reverberated with exuberance as Most Rev. Dr. Peter Machado, Metropolitan Archbishop of Bangalore, inaugurated the new degree college.


Archbishop Peter Machado presided over the solemn Holy Eucharist along with Archdiocesan and religious priests. The arena was conspicuously filled with religious nuns belonging to various congregations, most of them were Bon Secours Sisters.



The Congregation of the Sisters of Bon Secours is an international Roman Catholic women's religious congregation for nursing (gardes malades), whose declared mission is to care for those who are sick and dying. It was founded by Josephine Potel in 1824, in Paris, France. The term "Bon Secours" in French literally means "Good Help."


As he inaugurated the new Degree College, Archbishop Machado congratulated the Sisters of Bon Secures, hailed their multidisciplinary service to the church and society. The prelate also shed light on the importance of good education in our times.


Apart from Archbishop Machado, there were many other dignitaries like Provincial Superior of Fransciscan Bon Secours Sisters, Rev. Fr. V M Gregory, the Financial Administrator of the Archdiocese, Rev. Fr. Martin Kumar, Rector, St. Mary's Basilica, Shivajinagar, Rev. Dr. Cyril Victor Joseph, CCBI Media Coordinator, present during this auspicious moments of the day.
