Bengaluru, January 11, 2024: His Grace Most Rev. Dr. Peter Machado, Metropolitan Archbishop of Bangalore, inaugurated a new Adoration Chapel at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Halasuru. This chapel is an extension of the Divine Mercy Retreat Centre and will be open 24/7 to the public.
Rev. Fr. Anthony Prasad, the Director of Divine Mercy Retreat Centre, highlighted that the chapel's location adjacent to the retreat centre and parish church would allow the faithful to have a direct encounter with Christ. During the inauguration, Archbishop Machado emphasized the significance of the chapel as a place for a heart-to-heart conversation with Jesus Christ, describing it as a summit meeting with Jesus in solitude.
The event was attended by several clergy members, including Rev. Fr. Maria Louis, the Parish Priest of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, and Rev. Fr. Francis D’Souza, ICPE, the Spiritual Director of Bhakti Bhavana Minor Seminary, Rev. Fr. Xavier Swamy, CP, as well as faithful and religious individuals. The inauguration concluded with benediction and blessings by the Archbishop.
