In a spirit of prayerful preparation for the coming liturgical year, the Archdiocesan Commission for Liturgy released the new Ordo for 2025–2026, guiding priests, religious, and the faithful in the celebration of the sacred mysteries throughout the year.

The Ordo—a vital liturgical companion—serves as a daily reference for the Mass readings, Divine Office, liturgical seasons, and archdiocesan events. It also includes details of special collections, feast days, and the birthdays and ordination anniversaries of priests, fostering communion and prayerful remembrance within the presbyterium of the Archdiocese.

Speaking on the occasion, Most Rev. Dr. Peter Machado, Archbishop of Bangalore, commended the Liturgy Commission for their dedicated and meticulous work. “The Ordo is more than a calendar—it is a roadmap for our spiritual journey as a diocese. It helps us walk together in the rhythm of prayer, worship, and service, uniting us with the universal Church in celebrating God’s saving mysteries,” he said.

Rev. Fr. Maria Louis, Secretary of the Commission for Liturgy, expressed gratitude to the Archbishop for his constant support and pastoral encouragement. “This Ordo reflects the collaborative effort of our liturgical team. It is designed not only for the clergy but also for lay faithful who wish to deepen their participation in the life of the Church,” he shared.

Special mention was made of Rev. Fr. Hadlee Vimal and Rev. Fr. Terry Prakash Xavier, the Joint Secretaries, whose contributions in coordination, design, and compilation enriched the quality and accuracy of this year’s edition. The Commission also acknowledged the valuable input of the committee members, who worked diligently to ensure that the Ordo aligns with the universal liturgical norms while highlighting local ecclesial celebrations and pastoral priorities.

As the Church prepares to enter the new liturgical year with the season of Advent, the release of the Ordo stands as a timely reminder of the beauty of order in worship and the unity of faith expressed through the liturgy.

May this new Ordo inspire all to celebrate the liturgy with renewed devotion, reverence, and joy, marking another year of grace in the life of the Archdiocese of Bangalore.
