Fr. Cyril Victor Joseph, priest of the Archdiocese of Bangalore has obtained a Doctorate in the field of Institutional (Church) Communications from the Pontifical University of Holy Cross, Rome.
The papal visit was chosen as a case study for doctoral research to understand how the journalists and the main stream press focuses on the Church events. The study was focused on the recent visit of Pope Francis to USA in 2015 with a quantitative and rhetorical analysis of the press coverage. Prior to this he has also taken up a TV internship at EWTN, Alabama and a student exchange program at the University of Missouri, Columbia, USA.
Currently, He is the director of Communication Center and the secretary for the Social communication in the Archdiocese of Bangalore. In addition, he is also the director of Paalana Bhavana, the Pastoral Center of the Archdiocese of Bangalore and the Coordinator for all the diocesan commissions.
