Belthangady: Key handing over to 6 Flood affected families



In the year 2020, in and around Belthangady six houses ready to inhabit were inaugurated and the official Key handing Programme was held at Jnana Nilaya Belthangady on 28th January 2021 by Archbishop Most Rev Dr. Peter Machado. “By construction of these six houses we could able to wipe out the tears of poor and the less privileged people of the society,” the Prelate said as he spoke on the occasion.


Rev. Fr. Binoy A. J., Director DKRDS welcomed all and put forward the brief report of the Housing project. His Excellency, Lawrence Mukkuzhy Bishop of Belthangady presided over the Programme, appreciated the support of Bengaluru Archdiocese and delivered his presidential Address.


Mr. Robert D’souza, Caritas India State Officer for Karnataka State was the chief guest and was honored on behalf of Caritas India.



Rev. Fr. Joseph Naveen Kumar, Director BMSSS Bengaluru, Rev. Fr. Bala Francis, Rev. Fr. Vincent Kiran, Rev. Sr. Ashwini were honored on behalf of Donors during the Programme.


Mrs. Sowmya, the housing beneficiary acknowledged the contribution rendered by Donors towards the new houses. The funding support for these houses were received from the Archdiocese of Bengaluru, Caritas India, New Delhi along with Government grant and the contribution from different community based Organizations.



Very Rev. Fr. Jose Valiaparambil, the Vicar Generalm of Belthangady Diocese, Very Rev. Fr. Thomas Kannamkal, Vice President DKRDS, Rev. Fr. Lawrence Poonolil, the Chancellor of Belthangady Diocese, Rev. Fr. Joseph Mattam, Director of Jnana Nilaya, Rev. Fr. Thomas Puthiryara, Director of Family Apostolate, Deacon Shashi Kiran and others were present for the Programme.
