Our Lady of Good Health Church, Jigani: A Heartwarming Gathering

On July 27th, Our Lady of Good Health Church, Jigani, came alive with reverence and joy as it celebrated Grandparents and Elders Day. In a touching moment before Mass, grandparents were warmly welcomed and honoured.

The Holy Eucharist, celebrated by Rev. Fr. Varghese and Rev. Fr. Vinod SJ, was offered specially for grandparents. The youth of the parish beautifully organized the liturgy, making the day even more memorable. During the homily, the Rev. Fr. Varghese emphasized the central role of elders in fostering prayer and spiritual formation at home, stating, “When a child does not know how to pray, it is the elder who kneels first.”

The celebration concluded with a moving vote of thanks and prayers of appreciation for the elders who continuously offer guidance and unconditional love within families and the Church.

These celebrations across the Archdiocese of Bangalore stand as a powerful reminder that grandparents and elders are the roots of our faith, bearing fruit through generations. Let these events inspire every parish to embrace and honour the elders among us—not just on a special day, but throughout the journey of faith.

Grandparents day is a very good effort. Let us develop Family tree in every families. For this, We have to arrange get-together of all the families, once in a year. Then Familytrees will create good and everlasting relationships.
