"Each of us need to be a gift to others” stresses Archbishop at Asha program

Bangalore, December 22, 2019: More than 500 children along with others gathered at St. Aloysius Degree college hall for the Asha children sponsorship day and Christmas celebrations. The program was sponsored by the Asha Charitable Trust, Archdiocese of Bangalore. The children put up different programs in view of Christmas and spent a day together with the donors and all the responsible authorities of Asha Charitable Trust.

The Archbishop Most Rev. Dr. Peter Machado was present at the program and delivered the Christmas message to the children. He said, “Jesus was born poor and he had no place to be born. So also the children who are benefited by the love and sacrifices of the donors who are given the gift of education need to be a gift to others”. 

The director of Asha Charitable Trust, Rev. Fr. Patrick Pinto explained how the Trust works, by narrating the various donors both local and abroad who share their mite and more interesting he presented the success stories of the beneficiaries of the same program. He called on the children to imitate these successful candidates who have shaped their lives and careers and now have turned out to be donors to the Asha sponsorship program.

Ms. Madhuri Braganza, who was the guest of honor at the program, spurred children to achieve their dreams in life. “Alone we can’t do anything. We together can achieve anything,” she added. The Archbishop distributed Christmas gifts to children and 5 animators.

The program witnessed the presence of Most Rev. Dr. Peter Machado, Archbishop of Bangalore, Ms. Madhuri Braganza, South Indian film actress cum special educator, Msgr. C. Francis, Vicar General of Archdiocese of Bangalore, Rev. Fr. Patrick Pinto, Director, Aha Charitable Trust, and Rev. Fr. Martin Anil, Assistant Director, Asha Charitable Trust, and others.
