Environmental Day Celebration by the Archdiocesan Offices


Bangalore, October 4, 2019:  On the occasion of the feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron of environment, the Bangalore Multipurpose Social Service Society(BMSSS) along with Paalana Bhavana, the Archdiocesan Pastoral Center observed a meaningful celebration.

The day’s celebration began with the Holy Eucharist presided over by Rev. Fr. Cyril Victor Joseph, the Director of Paalana Bhavana along with other concelebrants Rev. Fr. Joseph Naveen, Director, BMSSS, Rev. Fr. D.S. Arokiaswamy and Rev Fr. Pius D’sa from the Clergy Home.



Speaking on God’s creation in his homily, Fr. Cyril Victor emphasized on using our freedom to make right choices and striving to keep our surroundings clean. The staff of Paalana Bhavana, BMSSS, Asha Charitable Trust, Archdiocesan Board of Education (ABE) and Family Welfare Center participated in the Mass.

After the Holy Mass, the participants and priests along with children from ASHA Charitable Trust walked in a procession holding placards containing pro-nature slogans. The procession halted at the entrance of the Archbishop’s House where Fr. Arokiaraj Satis Kumar, Chancellor of the Archdiocese, addressed the participants emphasizing on the need to save the environment.

To make the environment day a memorable one each department planted a sapling in the premises of Paalana Bhavana.
