The Archdiocese of Bangalore prayerfully observed Good Friday as thousands of faithful gathered in their respective parishes to remember the Passion and Death of Jesus Christ. Churches were filled with silence, devotion, and deep reflection as people came together as one family of faith. The atmosphere across the Archdiocese was solemn and united, helping everyone enter into the meaning of the Cross in a personal and spiritual way.

At the Cathedral, the service was led by His Grace Archbishop Peter Machado, who gave a simple yet powerful message. He reminded the faithful, “The Cross is not the end of hope, but the beginning of a new life; it teaches us that true love is always sacrificial.” His words touched many hearts and encouraged people to see their own struggles in the light of Christ’s sacrifice.

The Auxiliary Bishops, Rt. Rev. Arokia Raj Satis Kumar and Rt. Rev. Joseph Susainathan, also shared reflections in their celebrations. Bishop Arokia Raj said, “In every suffering we carry, Christ walks with us,” reminding the faithful that they are never alone. Bishop Joseph Susainathan added, “Even in silence and darkness, God is at work,” giving hope to those going through difficult times.

In every parish, the Passion of Christ was read, prayers were offered for the whole world, and the faithful came forward to venerate the Cross with devotion. These moments were simple yet powerful, helping people to reflect on God’s love and to grow in faith, forgiveness, and compassion.

Good Friday was not just a ritual but a meaningful experience for families and churches at large. It helped the faithful to pause, reflect, and renew their relationship with God. The unity seen across the Archdiocese showed the strength of faith that binds everyone together, even in silence and sorrow.
