The Infant Jesus Children's Home, Dinanilaya Convent, Kothanur, marked a significant milestone as it celebrated its Silver Jubilee with a grand inauguration on March 21, 2025. The solemn occasion was graced by His Excellency, Right Rev. Dr. Peter Machado, the Archbishop of Bangalore, who officially inaugurated the Jubilee Pilgrimage Institution. The event was a moment of joy and gratitude, highlighting 25 years of dedicated service in nurturing and caring for children in need.
The celebrations commenced with a Eucharistic Celebration, followed by the unveiling of a commemorative plaque by Archbishop Peter Machado. In his address, the Archbishop emphasized the mission of the institution in providing love, care, and holistic development for children, inspired by the compassionate heart of Christ.
Way of the Cross at the Pilgrim Centre
As part of the Jubilee celebration, a special Way of the Cross was conducted at the Pilgrim Centre of Infant Jesus Children's Home, Dinanilaya Convent, Kothanur. The devotion was led by Fr. Chowrappa, Parish Priest of Christ the King Church, Byrathi, along with his Legion of Mary Members. The faithful gathered in large numbers, walking the path of Christ’s Passion in deep prayer and reflection. The devotion brought immense spiritual enrichment to the participants, fostering a renewed sense of faith and commitment to Christ’s message of love and sacrifice.
Pilgrimage and Granting of Indulgence
