Bangalore, July 15, 2019: It was a refreshing spiritual weekend for the members of the Legion of Mary as they gathered at Paalana Bhavana, near the Archbishop’s house premises. There were more than 150 Legionaries who made their annual retreat from July 12 – 14.
Most Rev. Dr. Peter Machado, the Archbishop of Bangalore, celebrated the Holy Eucharist for the participants. “Women are the pillars of the church and family and giving them guidelines on how to protect the family and added that protecting the family is equal to protecting the church”, said the prelate in his homily.
At the beginning of the retreat the legionaries who came from the different parishes expressed their various experiences with the group. During the course of the retreat Frs. Sunny Richard, Rajesh and Arun Santhosh conducted talks on subjects like liturgy, Holy Eucharist, God’s Gift/Blessing, family and reconciliation.
Fr. Pius, Fr. Lawrence and Fr. Alywn Thanganathan from the clergy home helped out for confessions. It was a residential retreat giving the retreatants a quiet and peaceful atmosphere.
