Mount Carmel College celebrates Platinum Jubilee


Bangalore, 7th July 2022: The year 2022 must be marked in golden letters in the annals of Mount Carmel College as this prestigious institution celebrates Platinum, Jubilee of its foundation. It’s indeed a proud moment for all Carmelites and Alumni of the College.


There was a thanksgiving mass on 7th July presided over by Most Rev. Dr. Anthony Poola, Cardinal-Designate and Archbishop of Hyderabad. Archbishop Most Rev. Dr. Peter Machado, Archbishop of Bangalore was a concelebrant along with other bishops from all over the country.


The management of Mount Carmel College organized Platinum Jubilee Civic Celebrations. The Vice President of India, Shri. Venkaiah Naidu was the Chief Guest for the program. His Excellency Shri. Tawar Chand Gehlot, the Governor of Karnataka, Smt. Margaret Alva, former Union Minister and Governor, and other dignitaries were present at the celebrations.



Archbishop Peter Machado, who was the guest of honor, began his speech with the words of Saint Mother Teresa “Peace begins with a Smile,” The Archbishop expressed the heartfelt gratitude to God for his choicest blessings on this prestigious institution. On behalf of the Archdiocese of Bangalore and all the Christian Communities he conveyed his heartiest congratulations and prayerful wishes to the Mount Carmel College.


Pointing at its standard of education and excellence in academia, the prelate stated that Mount Carmel College is one of the reputed and acclaimed educational institutions in Bangalore. He concluded his benedictory speech with a prayer.
