On 16 August 2025, the faithful of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Halsuru, undertook a grace-filled Jubilee Year Pilgrimage under the leadership of their Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Maria Louis. The journey began at the parish church with prayers and blessings, as parishioners carried their personal intentions along with those of the Archdiocese of Bangalore and the universal Church.

The first halt of the pilgrimage was at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Mariapura, where pilgrims paused in prayer and devotion before the gigantic statue of St. Anthony, entrusting their petitions through the saint’s intercession.

From there, the journey continued to the Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Harobale—a designated Jubilee Pilgrim Church of the Archdiocese. Pilgrims were deeply moved by the rich history of this sacred place, especially the Ancient Cross enshrined with relics of the True Cross of Christ.

At Harobale, Rev. Fr. Patrick Pinto animated the faithful with a spiritual session that stirred hearts with renewed zeal. The pilgrims then participated in the sacraments of Confession and Holy Eucharist, and joined together in prayer for the intentions of the Holy Father, thereby fulfilling the requirements to obtain the Jubilee indulgence.

“Pilgrimages are not just about visiting holy places but about allowing God to touch our lives. I am grateful to see our parishioners embrace this Jubilee journey with such faith and devotion,” said Rev. Fr. Maria Louis, Parish Priest of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Halsuru.

One of the parishioners reflected on the experience, saying: “Kneeling before the ancient Cross and praying together gave me a deep sense of belonging to the Church. I feel renewed and ready to live my faith with greater joy.”

The pilgrims returned to Halsuru with hearts uplifted, faith strengthened, and a renewed commitment to witness Christ in their daily lives, marking the day as a memorable moment in the Jubilee Year celebrations.
