SCC Families Honoured for Growing Together in the Word of God

Reflecting the spirit of the Year of Married Couples, St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, Bengaluru, honoured the members of its Small Christian Communities (SCCs) who participated in the parish Bible Quiz during the Sunday 9:45 a.m. Holy Mass celebrated by Rev. Fr. Benedict Rajesh. The initiative celebrated not only knowledge of Sacred Scripture but also the commitment of families to grow together in faith through the Word of God.

Based on the Passion Narratives of Jesus from the four Gospels, the Bible Quiz was more than a competition. It was a spiritual journey that encouraged SCC members and families to read, reflect, and pray with the Scriptures together. By meditating on Christ's passion and sacrificial love, participants deepened their understanding of the Gospel and strengthened their relationship with the Lord.

The initiative beautifully echoed the vision of the Year of Married Couples, reminding families that God's Word is the foundation of a strong Christian home. When husbands and wives pray together, reflect on Scripture, and share their faith with their children, they build homes rooted in love, forgiveness, and hope. The enthusiastic participation of members across different age groups reflected the vibrant faith life of the SCCs and their desire to place Christ at the centre of family life.

Honouring the participants was therefore a recognition not only of their knowledge of the Bible but also of their witness as faith-filled families. Their dedication inspired the parish community to rediscover the importance of reading and living the Scriptures together, making every Christian home a place where God's Word is heard, shared, and lived each day.

The Rector of the Cathedral, Rt. Rev. Dr. Arokiaraj Satis Kumar, and the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Christopher White, congratulated all the SCC members for their enthusiastic participation and encouraged every married couple and family to make the Bible an integral part of their daily lives. They reminded the faithful that families who gather around the Word of God grow stronger in faith, remain united in love, and become living witnesses of Christ in society. The celebration concluded with a renewed invitation for every family to let the Scriptures guide their journey of faith and family life.
