TC Palya Deanery Youth Gather as Pilgrims of Hope in Jubilee Year 2025

The Archdiocese of Bangalore witnessed a vibrant celebration of faith and fellowship as the TC Palya Deanery marked the Jubilee with Youth at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Lourdunagara. The event drew over 200 enthusiastic young people from different parishes of the deanery, making it a remarkable day of prayer, learning, and community spirit in this Jubilee Year 2025.

The day began with thought-provoking sessions that set the tone for the celebration. Fr. William, SDB, gave an inspiring orientation talk on “Pilgrims of Hope”, inviting the youth to discover their role as witnesses of Christ’s love in the world. This was followed by a powerful talk on “Addictions and Substance Use” by members of Alcoholics Anonymous, who shared their experiences and insights. The practical wisdom and candid testimonies left a deep impres

sion on the youth, encouraging them to make healthy life choices and to stand strong against temptations.

At the heart of the gathering was the Holy Eucharist, celebrated by Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Susairaj, Dean of TC Palya Deanery. In his homily, he urged the young people to focus on what truly matters. “The world will always offer you material attractions, but only God can give you lasting peace,” he reminded them. His words resonated strongly with the youth, inviting them to anchor their lives in Christ and His Gospel rather than fleeting pleasures.

The celebration was further enriched by the presence of Most Rev. Dr. Joseph Susainathan, Auxiliary Bishop of Bangalore, who warmly addressed the youth. He encouraged them to be courageous disciples in today’s world and to embrace their calling to witness Christ in their families, parishes, and society. The bishop concluded with a special blessing upon all the participants, affirming their value as the future of the Church. His message strengthened the young people’s resolve to live their faith boldly and joyfully.

The entire program was meticulously organized by Rev. Fr. Varghese, SDB, Parish Priest of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Lourdunagara, and Rev. Fr. Julian, SDB. In the vote of thanks, Fr. Dr. Susairaj expressed deep gratitude to the parish priests for sending their youth to this gathering. The event stood as a memorable milestone in the Jubilee Year 2025, igniting enthusiasm and hope in the hearts of the youth. Truly, the day was a celebration of young faith on fire—walking as “Pilgrims of Hope.”
