The Residential Media Course organized by the CCBI Media Apostolate in collaboration with ACC and AVE Studios, Archdiocese of Bangalore, successfully concluded after a month of enriching learning, creativity, and practical media formation. Held from May 4 to May 30, 2026, at Paalanaa Bhavana, Bangalore, the course brought together 12 participants from different dioceses across India who came with a desire to learn, create, and grow in the field of media ministry.

The course was inaugurated by His Grace Most Rev. Dr. Peter Machado, Archbishop of Bangalore, who encouraged the participants to use media responsibly and meaningfully in today’s world. In his message, the Archbishop said, “Media is a powerful gift when it is used to spread truth, hope, and human values. The Church needs communicators who can inspire people with creativity and responsibility.” His words inspired the participants to see media not only as a profession, but also as a mission.

The entire program was carefully coordinated in collaboration with the CCBI Media Apostolate under the guidance of Rev. Dr. Cyril Victor Joseph, who planned the schedules, sessions, and arrangements for the course. Throughout the month, the participants received hands-on training in photography, videography, live streaming, audio production, AI tools, graphic designing, and editing software such as Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, Pro Tools, and Logic Pro. The sessions were practical, interactive, and focused on helping participants gain real experience in media production.

The training sessions were conducted by experienced resource persons including Mr. Yelstan, Fr. Saji, Fr. Cyril Victor Joseph, Fr. Maria Anthony, Mr. Akshy, and others who shared their expertise and guided the participants with patience and encouragement. Along with classroom learning, the participants were given opportunities to work on creative assignments and practical projects that strengthened their confidence and technical skills.

As part of the final evaluation, every participant was asked to create and submit a short film or video production of their choice. The final presentations reflected the creativity, dedication, and media knowledge gained during the course. On the concluding day, certificates were distributed to all the participants during the valedictory program.

Speaking on the occasion, Rev. Dr. Cyril Victor Joseph said, “This course was not simply about operating cameras or editing videos. It was about forming communicators who can touch lives through meaningful and value-based content.” He thanked the participants for their enthusiasm and encouraged them to continue using media positively in their dioceses and ministries.

Fr. Maria Anthony, Director of ACC and AVE Studios, delivered the vote of thanks and expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the program. He remarked, “Media has the power to connect hearts and build communities. We are happy that this course helped the participants discover their creativity and confidence.” He also thanked the Archbishop, the CCBI Media Apostolate, resource persons, organizers, and participants for their support and cooperation throughout the course.

The participants too shared their joy and gratitude at the end of the training. Fr. Don Peter shared, “This course gave us practical exposure and helped us understand how media can be used effectively in the mission of the Church.” Mr. Anthony Raj, Rtrd Police Inspector said, “The sessions were very interactive and inspiring. We learned not only technical skills but also teamwork, creativity, and communication.”
The Residential Media Course concluded on a joyful and hopeful note, leaving behind a group of young communicators equipped with knowledge, creativity, and a renewed passion to use media for service, evangelization, and society.
