In a beautiful celebration reflecting the spirit of the Year of Married Couples, St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, Bengaluru, honoured children and their parents for their faithful participation in the Holy Eucharist throughout the month of May. During the summer holidays, many families chose to begin each day in the presence of the Lord, making daily Mass a cherished part of their family life. Their commitment became a living witness that strong marriages nurture strong families, and strong families build a vibrant Church.

The recognition was not merely for the children who attended Mass every day but also for their parents—the dedicated married couples—whose love, unity, and steadfast commitment made this possible. By bringing their children to the altar day after day, these couples demonstrated that faith is first lived and taught within the family. Their example reminded the parish that the greatest gift parents can offer their children is a life rooted in Christ.

Inspired by the words of Jesus, "Let the little children come to me" (Mt. 19:14), the initiative beautifully highlighted the vocation of married couples as the first educators in faith. Through their daily witness of prayer, sacrifice, and perseverance, these parents nurtured not only the academic and personal growth of their children but also their spiritual lives. Their homes became true domestic churches where faith was lived before it was taught.

The celebration was a powerful reminder of the vision of the Year of Married Couples—that Christian marriage is not simply a relationship between husband and wife but a sacred vocation that shapes future generations. When parents pray together, worship together, and lead their children to Christ, they become living signs of hope for the Church and society. Their faithful witness inspires other families to place God at the centre of their homes.
The Rector of the Cathedral, Rt. Rev. Dr. Arokiaraj Satis Kumar, and the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Christopher White, warmly appreciated the dedication of the married couples who faithfully accompanied their children to daily Mass throughout the holidays. They commended the parents for embracing their vocation as the primary educators in faith and encouraged all families to continue making the Eucharist the heart of their homes. As the children and their parents received their recognition, the entire parish rejoiced, celebrating not only faithful attendance at Mass but also the enduring witness of families growing together in faith, love, and hope.
