Mega Passion Play Inspires Faithful at St. Anthony’s Shrine, TC Palya

Bengaluru, April 12, 2026 — St. Anthony’s Shrine, TC Palya, came alive with faith and devotion as it hosted a Mega Sound and Light Drama on the Passion of Christ at the St. Anthony’s Public School grounds. The event, organized under the leadership of Msgr. C. Francis, Parish Priest, drew a large gathering of people from across the city, creating an atmosphere of prayer, reflection, and unity.

The highlight of the evening was the powerful dramatization of the Passion of Christ. Through a beautiful blend of acting, music, lighting, and narration, the life, suffering, and sacrifice of Jesus were brought alive before the audience. The presentation was simple yet deeply moving, helping people of all ages to connect personally with the message of Christ’s love.

The event was inaugurated by D. K. Shivakumar, who appreciated the efforts of the parish in organizing such a meaningful program. In his address, he said, “Events like this remind us of the values of sacrifice, love, and unity. The Church continues to play an important role in building a compassionate and harmonious society.” Other dignitaries also graced the occasion, encouraging such initiatives that bring people together.
Speaking on the occasion, Msgr. C. Francis expressed his heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved. He said, “This Passion Play is not just a performance, but a prayerful experience. Through this, we want every person to encounter the love of Christ in a deeper way.” He also appreciated the dedication of the youth, volunteers, and organizers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes.

Many people present were deeply touched by the experience. One attendee shared, “Watching the Passion like this made me feel as if I was walking with Jesus. It truly moved my heart and strengthened my faith.” Families especially appreciated the effort, saying it helped children understand the meaning of Jesus’ sacrifice in a very real and engaging way.
