A new residence inaugurated for undergrad seminarians of the Archdiocese

Bangalore: Most Rev. Dr. Peter Machado on Monday, June 24, inaugurated the newly renovated building for the utilization of Archdiocesan college going seminarians at the Maria Niketan School Campus. For almost 3 decades the undergrad seminarians pursued their studies staying at their respective houses. However the students from Bangalore urban and the KGF district have always had different difficulties in order to complete their studies.

“Maria Bhavan” has come about with the continuous guidance of Archbishop Machado and collaboration of the present rector of Bhakthi Bhavan, Rev. Fr. Arokia Raj Satish Kumar.

The Archbishop presided over the con-celebrated mass in the new chapel where Rev. Fr. Nirmal Kumar was installed as the Director of Maria Bhavan.

At the ceremony Fr. Lawrence Noronha, the spiritual director, Fr. Naveen Gladson, assistant director of Bhakthi Bhavan, Fr. Albano Zeo, Assistant director of Maria Bhavan and Fr. Adolf Washington, the secretary of the archbishop were present.

Presently, there are 28 students who are pursuing their 3 year studies which is a requirement to make themselves eligible for the major seminary.

Good News. We thank the almighty for making the dreams come true for the semenerians of having their own house for studies. Congratulations to all those who have worked hard to make the project a success. We hope to see many more such projects under the able guidance of our Archbishop and his dedicated team.

Much awaited move from minor seminarians doing their graduation as they were deprived of a study atmosphere at their homes.

Some students never returned to complete their seminary studies because of so many reasons involved in their family and homes.

I hope this facilitates them to pursue their studies and encourages them to become priests.

Suggested to conduct regular camps for the students to train them in Social service activity, both theory and practical. Their manpower can be utilised in different cultural and religious gatherings of the Archdiocese in their free time and by that way they can feel the happenings of our Archdiocese and get prepared mentally to serve and lead the people of the Archdiocese in future.
