Bengaluru: In a gracious gesture reflecting the spirit of Christmas, Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Siddaramaiah visited the Archbishop’s House today to personally convey his festive greetings to Archbishop Dr. Peter Machado, Auxiliary Bishops Arockiaraj Satis and Joseph Susainathan, and Fr. Christopher Gerard White, Parish Priest of St. Francis Xavier Cathedral.

The Archbishop welcomed the Chief Minister warmly with a bouquet, expressing joy at his thoughtful visit during this holy season. As a symbol of Christmas goodwill and fraternity, the Archbishop and the Chief Minister jointly cut a Christmas cake, marking a moment of shared celebration.

In their interaction, Archbishop Machado acknowledged the government’s continued support and concern for minority communities, appreciating the Chief Minister’s openness to dialogue and welfare initiatives. Shri Siddaramaiah, in response, commended the Catholic Church for its longstanding and selfless service in education, healthcare, and social uplift across Karnataka. He reaffirmed his government’s commitment to protecting the rights and dignity of minority communities, assuring that “no one will be deprived of their due.”

The Archbishop then led the Chief Minister to the Christmas crib displayed at the Archbishop’s House. There, he briefly explained the significance of Christ’s birth—a message of peace, hope, and love, especially meaningful in today’s world. The Chief Minister paused in reflection, expressing appreciation for the universal values Christmas brings to society.
The visit concluded in a warm and harmonious atmosphere, echoing the true spirit of Christmas: unity, goodwill, and a shared hope for a peaceful Karnataka. The Archdiocese expressed its gratitude for the Chief Minister’s presence and extended prayers for blessings upon the State and its leaders.
