Spread Your Wings ministry conducted the second Catholic Leadership School (CLS) at the Paalana Bhawana on 21 – 23 October 2022. The intensive program attracted 35 current and future Catholic leaders from Bangalore, Mumbai, Goa, and Pune.
CLS commenced with the celebration of the Eucharist by Fr Cyril, Director of Paalana Bhawana. In his thought-provoking homily and remarks at the inauguration that followed the mass, Fr Cyril focused on the critical need for Christ-centred leadership in every sphere of human activity.
Subsequent CLS sessions highlighted the vital role of the Holy Spirit in shaping the thoughts, words, and deeds of every successful leader; the responsibilities, lifestyle, and spirituality that should be an intrinsic part of every Catholic leader’s arsenal; and the role of witnessing and importance of evangelization in a world that is in desperate need of God’s Word and His healing presence.
The Washing of the Feet ceremony, at which participants washed others’ feet after bringing to mind a person who had wronged them and whom they were choosing to forgive, proved a moving and powerful reminder of Jesus’s teaching and attitude towards others.
Trainers at the CLS included Colin and Priya Calmiano, Jose Antony, Selvam George, Donn D’Souza, and Cherian Ramapuram.
The closing mass at CLS was celebrated by Fr John Paul BCCRS spiritual director.
The clean and airy rooms, AV equipment, proactive staff, and tasty food at Paalana Bhawana perfectly complemented the excellent CLS program.
